History

In 2014 The Lighthouse Supported Living Inc. was approached by community leaders in North Battleford about opening a permanent emergency shelter in their city. After much discussion, The Lighthouse purchased the Reclaim Outreach Centre at 963 102nd St. in North Battleford.

In October, funding for the building came from the Federal Government, through the Rural and Remote Homelessness Partnering Strategy, as well as a generous donation from the Battleford Agency Tribal Chiefs Community Development Corporation (BATC CDC).

These donations allowed for much needed renovations of the existing facility, including a fire suppression system, kitchen upgrade, and additional washrooms and shower space. The doors were opened to clients in late January, 2015.
